The idea: instead of scrolling hundreds of prints, see bullish vs bearish premium crossed with trade types. Not just which way the money leans (Lesson 4) but how it's expressing the bet — with whose urgency (Lesson 3), and how fresh (Lesson 5).

The quadrants in plain terms:

• Bullish sweeps — urgent upside money. Paid up through levels to get long now. Highest timing signal.

• Bullish blocks — negotiated upside size. Patient institutional positioning. Highest conviction signal.

• Bearish sweeps — urgent downside money. Protection bought in a hurry, or a fast short.

• Bearish blocks — negotiated downside size. Structured hedging or patient bearish positioning.

Reading combinations — the real skill: bullish sweeps + bullish blocks stacking = urgency and size agree (strongest configuration). Bullish sweeps against bearish blocks = a fight — someone's urgent bet meets someone else's structured book; watch which side adds. Lopsided single-quadrant flow with nothing elsewhere = often one player, not a consensus — discount it.

Lesson 7 of 9. Six lessons of flow; now we add the chart's voice. The squeeze is where technicals and patience meet.

The analogy: a spring being compressed. Coils tighter, stored energy growing — nothing moving yet. When it releases, it releases fast. The TTM Squeeze finds springs.

The mechanics: when Bollinger Bands squeeze inside Keltner Channels, volatility has contracted hard. Range narrowing, energy building, nobody willing to make the big bet yet. When the squeeze fires — bands exit the channels — the move is typically large and fast. Compression resolves into expansion.

The discipline — the teaching moment: the squeeze tells you when, never which way. It fires up or down with equal willingness. It's a setup, not a signal. The professional use: scan for squeezes, watchlist the coiling names, then wait for the bands to exit plus a strong directional candle. Jumping the gun is how traders get chopped — coils outlast impatience, every time.

The bridge to flow (why the squeeze sits at Lesson 7, not Lesson 1): a squeeze firing with supportive flow is a different animal than one firing alone. Remember Lesson 3's urgency and Lesson 5's freshness test? A breakout candle + fresh sweep buying in the breakout direction = chart says "ready," money says "positioned." That's confluence — the entire subject of our finale.

Try it yourself: pull up any chart, find the tightest Bollinger/Keltner compression, then check: is there flow behind it, or is it coiling on air? No flow behind a coil is the most common trap in this pattern.

Lesson 6 of 9. You know direction (Lesson 4) and freshness (Lesson 5). Now the four actions.

Meet the four characters:

• The Aggressor (bought calls) — paying for upside, premium out the door, time decay working against them. Profit only if the stock moves. Nobody buys calls for fun.

• The Landlord (sold puts) — getting paid to agree to buy lower. "I'll own it down there, and I'll take rent while I wait." Patient, institutional, quiet.

• The Bodyguard (bought puts) — paying for downside. But context decides: against known long holdings, it's a hedge (not bearish). Standalone, it's a directional short. Never read bought puts without asking "protecting what?"

• The Landlord's mirror (sold calls) — capping upside for income. The "ceiling" trade: someone doesn't expect a rip. Heavy call selling at a strike can mark resistance — sellers defending a level.

The advanced move — combinations. Single flow types are vocabulary; combinations are sentences. Bought calls plus sold puts on the same name = conviction stacking (two structures, one thesis). Bought puts plus bought calls = a strangle = a volatility bet, direction-agnostic. From here on, never read a print in isolation — always ask what it's paired with.

Try it yourself: pick any ticker's flow and sort every print into the four characters. Then hunt for pairs. The moment you spot conviction stacking in real data, you'll feel the click — that's fluency arriving.

Lesson 5 of 9. You've been using this concept since day one — I promised we'd come back to it. Today's the day.

The analogy: a parking lot with 100 cars (open interest = cars already parked). If 400 new cars arrive (volume), that's an event. If 10 arrive, it's just Tuesday. Same arrivals — completely different meaning depending on what was already there.

The rule:

• Size >> open interest → brand-new positioning. Nobody held this contract before; someone just opened it. The highest-signal configuration in flow reading.

• Size << open interest → likely an existing position being adjusted, rolled, or closed. Housekeeping. Lower signal.

The case study (from Lesson 1 — feel the lessons connecting?): that 40,000-contract CMCSA call block ran ~14x existing open interest (~5,808). Not management. A $1.76M new flag in January 2027 calls. Fresh money, long horizon.

The working routine — use this every time: when a big print catches your eye, compute size ÷ open interest before anything else. Above ~3x → treat as fresh. Below 1x → management until proven otherwise. This single ratio filters out half the noise in the tape.

Try it yourself: pull up any unusual print and do the division. Then ask: does "fresh vs housekeeping" change your read? It should — almost every time.

Lesson 4 of 9. You can spot prints, read the market picture, and weigh sweeps against blocks. Now the accounting system that turns all of it into direction.

The two lines that run everything:

• Bullish flow = bought calls + sold puts

• Bearish flow = bought puts + sold calls

Why do sold puts count as bullish? Selling a put means agreeing to buy the stock lower — you only do that if you're comfortable owning it. Quiet bullishness: "I'll own it down there, and I'll take premium while I wait." Institutions love this structure. Sold calls are the mirror: capping upside for income, often marking a "ceiling" where someone doesn't expect a rip.

The ratio: bullish premium ÷ bearish premium. Above 1.0, upside money dominates. Below 1.0, defensive. (October 5th's tape sat below 1.0 in every major sector — remember Lesson 2's snapshot? Now you know exactly how that number is built.)

The lesson-within-the-lesson — what separates beginners from practitioners: the ratio tells you direction, not character. $5M of urgent call sweeps and $5M of passive put selling both read "bullish." One is aggressive speculation; the other is income collection. Same number, different bets. This is why Lessons 1–3 came first: you need the vocabulary — sweeps, blocks, urgency — to interrogate the ratio instead of just reading it.

Try it yourself: find any bull/bear ratio and ask what's driving it — which flow types, which strikes, what urgency? If you can't answer, you don't have a signal yet. Just a number.

Lesson 3 of 9. You can spot unusual prints (Lesson 1) and read the market-wide picture (Lesson 2). Now the distinction that changes how much weight you give any single trade.

The analogy: two people buy the same house on the same street. One outbids five others in a frenzy, waiving inspection. The other negotiates quietly for a month and closes at an agreed price. Same house, same price — completely different urgency. Sweeps and blocks are those two buyers.

• Sweep: split across multiple exchanges to grab available size fast. The trader wanted in now and paid up through levels. Typical look: many small-to-mid prints, often repeating through the day (remember Lesson 1's repetition marker — this is where it lives).

• Block: one single negotiated print, desk-to-desk, price agreed in advance. Typical look: a few very large prints. Low urgency, serious size — structured institutional positioning.

The rule: sweeps tell you when someone couldn't wait → timing information. A sweep into a key level the day before an event is a very different signal than background flow. Blocks tell you where size agreed to sit → positioning information. October 5th's $1.76M CMCSA block is someone planting a flag, not someone in a hurry.

The classic mistake: treating all big prints equally. A $500K sweep and a $500K block are not the same trade — psychologically or informationally. Weight sweeps for urgency and timing; weight blocks for conviction and positioning.

Try it yourself: take any two big prints, classify each as sweep or block, and write one sentence on what each implies. If you can't tell them apart yet, you're not ready to weight them.

Reading a snapshot (three layers): absolute numbers show where attention is (Technology dwarfs everything — that's the battlefield). The net shows the day's tilt. And the trend across days tells the real story — one defensive day is noise; five in a row is a regime. We'll build on this in Lesson 4.

Lesson 1: What is unusual options activity?

Most options trades are noise — market makers hedging, funds rolling positions, retail guessing. A few are signals. IWM put sweep, ~$280K premium. Split across exchanges to grab size fast, flagged HIGH conviction. That contract did ~$2.54M on the day with repeating prints. Markers hit: urgency + repetition. Someone kept coming back — that's accumulation behavior.

CMCSA call block, 40,000 contracts, ~$1.76M premium. One giant negotiated print. Daily volume (~80,218) ran ~14x existing open interest (~5,808). Markers hit: size + open-interest context. Fresh positioning — nobody held this contract before October 5, 2026.

Reading the structure: the IWM trade was a bought put — gains value if the index falls — defensive or directional downside. The CMCSA trade was a bought call block for January 2027 — long-dated, massive, patient. Two time horizons, two theses. The skill isn't just spotting the print; it's reading what the structure implies.

We have been pounding the table on NVDA’s move to 220+ Its the FIB 1.618 extension level. Earlier this week NVDA breached the psychological level of 200 (also a FIB extension level) with ease.

Technically, $NVDA traded in a $200–$212 range last week, with bullish flags forming (RSI ~65, above 50-day MA). Volume-supported breakouts above $210 could target $220 (prior high), supported by call flow.

Activity was particularly heavy on October 29 and 31, with spot prices hovering around $200–$210 during the trades. The flow shows a mix of sweeps and blocks, with slightly more bullish conviction in calls (e.g., OTM call sweeps indicating upside speculation around $220–$230 strikes)

Flow for the NXPI ER expiration was reported as all bearish.

Here we are interested in looking at different timeframes. If you look for any expiration dates reported. You would find a BLOCK 300C order for NXPI for 18th Oct 2024 for total to 2.17M + 480K
Now this is significant, should have to keep this is mind, but the expiration is for Oct so whale was probably looking past ER. Also, we checked the OI on those options, the recent OI showed a significant drop, that kind of spooked us.

Pre ER : Although more bullish flow than bearish, but hey market opens every weekday. Just freaking wait.. no ?

Post ER : Whales and market both got time to digest all the complicated numbers and future guidance and what not.

Semi, SPY and QQQ

We started noticing very large bearish flow on SMH, amplified quite a bit early this week. This kinda of put us on alert to as to something is due. But its not just 1 ETF flow that does it. We were seeking more confirmations of this sentiment shift.

SQQQ solidified out thesis and served us as an early sign

SOLX sentiment turned from highly bullish to mixed

Again as I mentioned above not 1 flow does it. We always seek more confluences. Be it other related ETFs or Stocks that are part of that ETF. It’s not an exact science, you have to look beyond and try to find gather more evidence to support your thesis

Overall flow and charts definitely put us on alert.
Along with the Flow, in our Jarvis Alerts community we use charts quite a lot. Following comments were posted after market close on 15th July

The Chart was buying bearish divergences on 4h chart. Something we never take lightly, may not be immediately actionable but these divergences play out. Our job is to notice these subtle signals and align ourselves in the path of money or at the very least get out the path of a freight train.

This one is particularly difficult to identify. However there were breadcrumbs all over the Option Flow and Chart.

Chart made a double bottom and bounced, some whale got in on 2000 contacts for Sep and paid whopping 690K . Next few days the only flow came in was bullish and supporting. 85C and 80C, not as big though.

Any bottom fisher would have paid attention to this flow and noticed that flow into the year end is turning green as the stock has been destroyed literally.
Don’t beat up yourself if you did not catch it. This was a tough one. But hell, someone always knows and they made HUGE money on this move.

Chart:

Crypto Bitcoin, MARA RIOT MSTR COIN CLSK

While QQQ and SPY where having really bad days in the market with VIX Rampaging (if you reached this far in the newsletter you know how we were able to anticipate this move) anyways, while the major indexes were having bad days in the market the FLOW on Crypto names stayed very very strong. I have been covering it in previous newsletters too. The trend continued.

charts: You would notice the common pattern of HUGE Friday upward thrusts on all these crypto related stocks

IWM TNA DIA

TNA : 3X Leveraged Small Cap ETF. When the flow just shows up like this overwhelmingly bullish, we have to pay attention to what this means.

IWM move was initiated from last CPI print. These are just additional cherry on top plays, as super easy to detect.
